I picked up a 1959 Volvo PV 544, on a whim, in 1977.  I was motorcycling down to Huntington Beach, CA to do some body surfing and saw this gem in Sunset Beach sporting a "For Sale" sign.  The price seemed reasonable, $800.  I drove it a bit for the first couple years but my grandiose plans for the car were sidetracked by life's other issues and it languished, first in my backyard in Southern California and then in my car port in Billings, MT.  It was my younger son who encouraged me to wake up the 544 and get it running again.  It took some effort but it is now moved into daily driver status with lots of work left to be done.

Was this the definition of a "gumption trap?"

Entropy in action. At least rodents had not taken up occupancy.

It has to get worse before it gets better.

Can anyone own too many Volvos?
